Have you ever heard of SaaS?
I bet you have, it’s software-as-a-service and famous examples are Dropbox and Slack. So typically subscription-based software products which run in the cloud.
Now, when I was looking into SaaS opportunities, I came across the concept of Micro-SaaS. It’s basically the same thing but refers to a software product that solves a specific problem for a niche and is typically developed by a single founder or a small team. This makes micro-SaaS perfect for anyone who wants to build something in their spare time. Even better, you avoid competition because you’re targeting a specific group of customers.
There aren’t a lot of resources about micro-SaaS, but I found this guy called Rick Blyth. He’s the founder of Merch Wizard, a micro-SaaS that targets Merch By Amazon users. After selling his business, he decided to share his lessons and experiences online. The best part is that he has published a comprehensive and very detailed e-book on how to create your own profitable micro SaaS.
It’s called “The Micro SaaS Handbook” and you can find it on his personal website.
