Update of my morning routine

In my previous post, I wrote that I want to give an update on how my morning routine evolves in the future. That is exactly what this post is about.

I know this update might come late I was and I’m still very busy studying. This semester is already ending soon and I think it is a good time to finally write this post.

As it turns out I kind of have multiple morning routines throughout the week. The main differences are between weekdays and the weekend, but also during the week I have two different routines. Either I go out for a run at home or I go to the gym at university.

So here is an overview of my morning routines.

My Morning Routine on weekdays

Going to the gym at university (usually 3-4 times a week)

  • Get up at 6:00 am
  • Go to the bathroom
  • Go to university and while commuting:
  • Go to the gym at university for about 1 hour and 15 minutes
  • Take a cold shower
  • Go and study

Doing a run at home and Bodyweight exercises at home (usually 1-2 times a week)

  • Get up at 6:00 am
  • Go to the bathroom
  • Go out for a run
  • Depending on the duration of the run, do some bodyweight exercises
  • Do not forget to do some stretching
  • Take a cold shower
  • Go to university and while commuting:

My Morning Routine on weekends

  • Get up at around 8 am
  • Either on Saturday or Sunday do a long run, on the other day either rest, do another run or do some bodyweight exercises

As you can see, I have been able to establish sport as a fundamental part of my life. I have already improved my physical condition and mental strength by doing sport at least 5 times a week. However, it is still difficult for me to journal daily and to write in my blog consistently.

I often catch myself saying I will start writing more on my blog after this semester when I start working on my master thesis. In the previous semester, I already told myself I will start writing consistently next semester. But as it often happens to be, we humans procrastinate on things that lie out of our comfort zone and/or require some work.

Especially in the beginning when we are bad at those things or we are unsure about the outcome. That’s exactly what I struggle with. I’m not sure how long it will take until I feel confident with my writing. On the other hand, I know without actually writing my writing will not improve. In the end, you have to put in the work to get better at anything.

So I may not be able to write a useful blog post several times a week, but I’m starting to write 1000 words a day to get used to it and eventually become a writer. Hopefully, I will be able to write some useful blog posts along the way.
